E. L. Schofield & Son was established in Pudsey in 1920 by the late Edward Lance Schofield.  It has operated from the same workshop premises to the present day.  Steve Riley joined the company in 1976; whilst training in the workshop alongside Mr. Lance Schofield he studied for three years at Jacob Kramer College and attained a City & Guilds Advanced Craft Qualification.  Many years later he returned to the college as a part time lecturer in Traditional Furniture Making.  Steve is now running the business and deals directly with initial customer enquiries through to completion of the work.  He also oversees the highly skilled workforce.
